ASCE 2018 Steel Bridge Team Works with Real-World Operations to Refine Design

Thanks to supporters Tucson Electric Power, CAID Industries, J.B. Steel and QuakeWrap, the ASCE 2018 Steel Bridge team has been hard at work over the past year.

After developing a design in the fall, the team has been working to turn their concept into a reality and meeting with engineers at QuakeWrap to review the design. QuakeWrap engineers offered a few insights into the bridge's behavior for the team to consider.

The steel bridge team also visited J.B. Steel to tour its fabrication shop and yard. This was an opportunity to see the operations of a structural steel fabricator.

The bridge workdays are Saturday mornings at 9 a.m., and newcomers from engineering and campus students are always welcome.
