Hunter Brown Receives 2017 DBIA Distinguished Student Leadership Award

The Design-Build Institute of America awarded Hunter Brown, a senior in CEEM with an emphasis in construction, its 2017 Distinguished Student Leadership Award in November.

Brown helped establish the DBIA-UA chapter in fall 2016, and has served as president in the chapter’s first two years. With his help, the DBIA-UA chapter has competed in multiple design-build competitions, including the 2016 and 2017 DBIA Nationals and the UA Student Union Rooftop Garden.

With Brown as liaison to UA ASCE student chapter, DBIA-UA also participated in the 2017 ASCE Pacific Southwest Conference and will attend the 2018 conference in April.

While he interned with McCarthy, Brown worked on a major design-build project: the University of Arizona South Stadium Parking Structure.
