Construction Engineering Management Students Win Scholarships

Five students from the UA civil engineering department’s construction engineering management emphasis gained real-world knowledge of the construction industry over the summer.
- Tina Johnsen and Kevin Burruel won the $3,500 Mike Kolling Memorial Scholarship, an award designed to further students’ interest in construction and heavy civil engineering.
- Kyle DerHaag received the $2,000 Simpson Strong-Tie Scholarship, which was established to support education and promote the design and building of safer structures in our communities.
- David Rodriguez was awarded the Beavers Scholarship for heavy civil construction. The Beavers Scholarship encourages and supports entry of promising young individuals into heavy engineering construction.
