UA Civil Engineering Alumna Receives 2017 DBIA Scholarship

Congratulations to recent civil engineering graduate Lissette Flores on receiving the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) Western Pacific Region College Scholarship. This scholarship recognizes construction students with academic ability and demonstrated interest in the design-build process.

In addition to the $4,000 scholarship, Flores and nine other scholarship recipients traveled to Newport Beach, California, for the May 18 DBIA Awards Ceremony.

“The DBIA event was amazing," Flores said. "I had the opportunity to connect with people from all over the industry. My favorite part was being exposed to all the different awards DBIA gives to design-build projects.

"I also had the opportunity to connect with young professionals within DBIA, and I'm looking forward to joining these groups of young professionals in the future. The overall experience was really great. I hope more of our students have the opportunity to attend events like this.”
