Accidental Discovery by CEEM Alumnus Could Save Billions of Dollars

A team including Rudra Pratap, chair of the Centre for Nano Science and Engineering at the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore, has found a way to etch nanocircuits on silicon chips at room temperature. 

The technique could lower production costs, accelerate research at the fundamental chip level and revolutionize the semiconductor industry. 

Pratap received a master's degree in engineering mechanics from the UA in 1987.
