Outstanding Support Generates Outstanding Civil Engineering Transfer Students

Fernanda Fraijo Arce and her twin sister, Alejandra, transferred to UA from Pima Community College. Alejandra majored in chemical engineering, and Fernanda decided to pursue civil engineering. With the UA being named to Phi Theta Kappa’s 2018 Transfer Honor Roll for its commitment to transfer student support and recruitment, they were in good hands. During her time at UA, Fernanda landed an internship at DPR construction, decided to pursue a master’s degree in structural engineering at UA and formed lifelong friendships.

“I’ve had the two best years of my life,” she said. “I’ve met a lot of people and gained a lot of knowledge from my classes, work experience and extracurricular activities. The UA has opened so many doors for me.”
