Award-Winning Article for CAEM Professor, Graduate Student, Alumnus and Researcher
An article written by CAEM researchers was recently named the winner of IGI Global’s Excellence in Research Journal Awards in the category of environment and agriculture.
"Seismic Reliability Evaluation of Structural Systems for Different Soil Conditions" -- authored by professor Achintya Haldar, graduate student Francisco Javier Villegas Mercado, alumnus Hamoon Azizsoltani and researcher J. Ramon Gaxiola-Camacho -- was published in International Journal of Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering.
IGI Global’s awards are given to journal articles published the preceding year that showcase “forward-thinking research,” according to a press release. Haldar, Mercado, Azizsoltani, and Gaxiola Camacho’s paper was chosen because it met IGI Global’s criteria of contribution to the field, originality of research, practicality of research and results, quality of writing, rigor of research, and substantive research and methodology.
