CEEM Graduate Students Win 2017 GPSC Awards

Doctoral students Andisheh Ranjbari and Amin Ariannezhad were both honored by the University of Arizona Graduate and Professional Student Council at the 2017 GPSC Achievement Awards ceremony on April 5.

Ranjbari received the University's Outstanding Teaching Assistant award in recognition of her excellent teaching practice and high level of dedication to students. Students praised her ability to explain technical concepts and her willingness, as one wrote, to be "always available to me when I go into her office hours for help."

Ranjibari was nominated by associate professor of practice Dean Papajohn. She has assisted in his course CE 214: Statics, as well as CE 211P: Engineering Economics and CE 469/569: Travel Demand Modeling.

Ariannezhad received a second place award for Outstanding Graduate/Professional Student Leadership for his positive influence in his co-curricular activities and helping his organization grow.

Ariannezhad is president of the University of Arizona Institute of Transportation Engineers. Under his leadership,UAITE has promoted more undergraduate students in officer positions, encouraged interactions with industry professionals and involved chapter members in industry events in Arizona and California. He was nominated by professor Yao-Jan Wu.
